1. Vara TV Show, June 5th 1964
The Beatles kicked off their World Tour in Holland with Jimmy Nicol still
standing in for a hospitalized Ringo. They recorded an appearance for
VARA-tv in which they were interviewed and mimed to 'Twist And Shout',
'All My Loving', 'Roll Over Beethoven', 'Long Tall Sally', 'She Loves You'
and 'Can't Buy Me Love'. Though they were miming, the microphones were
also on, so you can hear the live performance as well.
2. Hollywood Star Newsreel, August 23d 1964
Footage of the Beatles shot on their 1964 visit to Hollywood. Taken not
from a re-broadcast.
3. Let It Be Outtakes, January 1969
Original black and white silent footage from a UK source (c.1981).
No one really knows how these black and white, silent footage clips have
made it to the collector's market.
The Let It Be film has only ever been officially released to the public as
a theatrical film and as a short-lived video cassette and laser disc in
the USA in 1981. The Beades' Apple company has all the footage from these
January 1969 sessions in storage, and together with the actual film this
would have been a most welcome DVD release for Beades fans. Internal
disagreements are, however, preventing the release.
All of this footage may be replicated in "Winter of Discontent" however
this is the raw footage in it's original form.
